Job summary West Suffolk Dialysis Unit is one of CUH's satellite dialysis units.
It forms an integral part of CUH Renal Services which comprises of inpatient wards C5 and F4.
An acute dialysis Unit based on ward C5.We have 4 off site satellite dialysis units, Cambridge Dialysis Centre in Cambridge, at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Kings Lynn at the Queen Elizabeth hospital and West Suffolk is situated at West Suffolk HospitalThe West Suffolk dialysis Unit is a 13 station unit, including 2 side rooms.
It runs a 6 day service closed on a Sunday.
The unit runs 3 shifts a day every day it is open 7:00-23:00Our off site units are nurse led units supported by the renal consultant teams.
West Suffolk Unit is supported by the renal consultant team at West Suffolk hospital.
They have local low clearance services and low clearance team based at Cambridge dialysis Unit.
Our anemia nurse team, vascular access and home therapies team are also based at Cambridge Dialysis centre.You will be employed by Cambridge University Hospital working in partnership with Fresenius Medical Care.Governance and peer support is provided within CUH renal services in the form of quarterly meetings, regional guidance and conferences and operational and senior nurse oversight and support.The band 7 senior Sister /Charge nurse role requires an experienced expert dialysis nurse who would like to lead, develop and support their nursing team to deliver safe, effective care and treatment for a regional cohort of patients.

Informal visits welcome Main Duties To lead and manage an off-site outpatient dialysis unit To lead and co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care within budgetary resources To assess care needs, to develop, to implement and evaluate programmes of care To be responsible for all aspects of staff management and recruitment in line with HR policy To participate in a full range of shifts, ensuring a visible presence in the ward area To be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance and risk management within the ward area.
