Senior Risk Consultant, Framework Implementation

As a Senior Risk Consultant in our first line Operational and Conduct Risk Framework Implementation team in the Chief Controls Office (CCO) Practice Office, you'll support a variety of Operational and Conduct risk framework implementation and embedding activities across the Society, continually improving our operational and conduct risk maturity and driving the completion of risk framework requirements.
We're looking for a talented individual to manage exciting and challenging initiatives to support key regulatory and internal operational and conduct risk management processes, working closely with 1 st line teams and 2 nd line Oversight partners.
Activities led by the Practice Office include Risk Appetite setting, the Scenario Analysis programme, Conduct Dashboard reporting, Data Quality checking, Policy Dashboard reviews and operational and conduct risk simplification initiatives.
This role would suit a proactive and conscientious individual with operational and conduct risk experience, comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, who can balance a focus on delivery of results with the ability to identify continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, Northampton, Bournemouth or London office.

What you'll be doing Reporting into a Senior Manager within the CCO Practice Office, in this role you will work closely with Practice Office colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure risk framework activities are delivered to the required standards, and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and simplification of the Society's risk management approaches (e.g.
driving centralisation and automation of controls, uplifting risks etc).
Depending on the need of the team and your strengths/experience/preferences, you will support the successful delivery of activity such as Scenario Analysis, Risk Appetite setting, Data Quality testing, Conduct Dashboard reporting, Policy Dashboard and Control statements Reviews and risk simplification initiatives.
Day to day, you will collaborate with the Practice Office colleagues, 1 st line teams (such as policy owners and risk partners) and 2 nd line risk Oversight teams to drive the robust delivery of framework requirements and continuous improvement in risk management approaches.
You will be expected to demonstrate a sense of ownership of your deliverables and a passion for driving efficiency, with the support of your Practice Office peers and Senior Managers.
About you As a minimum you will need: Experience of operational and conduct risk management, preferably within a financial services organisation.
A broad understanding of typical risk framework requirements and knowledge of how to seek further details on how these should be delivered.
An understanding of governance principles and experience in navigating governance frameworks.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including an ability to build rapport with stakeholders at different levels and from a variety of different teams.
The ability to take ownership of deliverables and see them through to completion, with the support of your peers and Senior Managers.
Strong influencing skills and an ability to drive action in others.
The ability to constructively challenge stakeholders at all levels, both individually and collectively.
The ability to effectively analyse information and demonstrable excellent attention to detail.
