Your Opportunity at Arc'teryx: As the Senior Retail Designer in EMEA, you will create timeless, quality, and intuitive designs for Arc'teryx retail locations globally. Your designs will excite the consumer by connecting them to our brand and product through premium retail experiences. You will produce store designs for brand locations including space plans, storefront designs, signage, fixtures, and finishes. Your leadership will ensure project design development and implementation is done with passion, curiosity and a continuous drive to explore and evolve.
Through on-site and remote work this role is primarily based out of our London office. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. Expectations is an average of two days per week at the London office (Covent Garden store).
Meet Your Future Team: The Store Development & Operations EMEA team includes experts in key parts of our business from Real Estate to Design to Construction to create amazing spaces to engage with our guests and support our OMNI journey. The Operations department is covering everything from current in-store ops to future ops, bringing in-market Retail training and NSO support that will allow us to be even more nimble working cross functionally with all departments.
You'll report to the VP Store Development & Operations EMEA.
If you were a Senior Retail Designer EMEA now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing: Working closely with both the VP Store Development & the Director, Retail Design (Vancouver) to create and adapt retail concepts for all D2C channels (brand stores, Brand+, Alpha, concept stores, Mountain Stores, shop in shop, etc.)Driving the design and coordination of all interior brand elements in partnership with the Brand team to maintain overall design and brand visionLeading regular design presentations to the Senior Leadership TeamLeading cross-functional collaboration sessions specific to each store projectIdentifying areas of opportunity in our Retail Designs and taking initiative to design a solutionDriving project timelines and communicating with cross-functional partners using SmartsheetInitiating and reviewing architectural site surveys for design and layout feasibility to make recommendations for budget, operational and brand appropriatenessPreparing project layouts, specifications, millwork, lighting direction and design details for architectural documentationDirecting and managing the production of architectural drawings for accuracy, industry quality standards, building codes, health and safety regulationsManaging external architects on drawing deliverables, completion dates, permitting and construction documentsReviewing standard project-based shop drawings (storefront, fixtures, signage, brand elements) for accuracy, completeness and coordination with architectural drawingsWorking closely with Director, Construction and PM's during budgeting, bid and build phasesPartnering with Visual Merchandising team to finalize store layouts, assortment strategy and capacity for each locationHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future: Designing new innovative store concepts and solutionsPartnering with VM and Brand on new fixture designs and brand momentsResearching new innovative finishes and materialsSupporting Store of the Future initiatives, Global Design Standards, and the Retail Design Playbook evolutionProviding guidance and mentorship to the rest of the Design TeamAre you our next Senior Retail Designer? You have 8+ years of experience in global retail designYou have a bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture or a related field and you are LEED certified and/or have a keen interest in sustainable design practicesYou are proficient in CAD drafting using AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Sketch Up, Enscape and SmartsheetYou have demonstrated ability creating and delivering innovative design concepts and solutions on time and on budget with minimal directionYou are experienced in current building codes and ADA requirements in both US, CA and EMEAYou have strong design and presentation skillsYou have strong 3D rendering skillsYou are knowledgeable in material specification, sourcing and construction methodsYou have a strong ability to drive work to ensure deadlines are metYou are a strong team player with ability to work independently with minimum supervision AND in a collaborative environmentYou are driven to problem solve and open to learnYou have excellent verbal and visual communication skillsYou have excellent ability to create, understand and translate three dimensional concepts into drawingsYou are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutionsYou remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguityYou effectively balance autonomy and collaborationYou inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvementYou seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is rightYour passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living itEqual Opportunity Arc'teryx is committed to actively creating and fostering a culture of inclusivity where voices are heard, people are seen, and values are respected.
