Job summary Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Fellow - Endometriosis in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
There is 1 full-time positions available fixed term for minimum 6 months (with the potential to be extended to 12 months).
We are seeking someone ST4+, to start early February or prior to this if available.
The Endometriosis Research Fellow will be helping with a new commercial study in Women's Services called the ACERS study.
Activities will include research and recruitment time, acute gynaecology scanning, clinics (including complex Endometriosis, Rapid Access, ovarian cyst and scanning clinics).
Main duties of the job The post will be a full-time equivalent to ST4-7 level in obstetrics and gynaecology at GSTFT working within the Directorate of Women's Services.
All duties are undertaken with suitable senior support.
The post-holder will have passed MRCOG part 1 (or equivalent) and must have completed minimum 2 years at registrar or equivalent level (ST4) in an RCOG approved (or equivalent) unit.
Communication and inter-personal skills are very important in this post and the post-holder will be expected to exhibit the highest possible standards in communication with patients, their families, consultants, junior medical staff, midwives and nurses since multi-professional team-working forms the foundation of our patient focussed service.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential Eligible for full UK GMC registration and a Licence to Practise MRCOG (UK) Part 1 or equivalent Completion of a minimum of two years of Specialist Training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology [ST4 or above when starts post] Desirable Additional Degree or MSc in relevant subject Experience in/ attendance at courses/ meetings relevant to endometriosis Skills Essential Demonstrates personal and educational reasons for applying for this fellowship Evidence of a good understanding of clinical governance Evidence of ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team Desirable Objective evidence of good organisational and problem solving skills Experience Essential 24 months minimum of Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience as an SHO (ST1- 2) Experience of QUIPs/clinical audit Communication; Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English; ability to build rapport, listen, persuade/ negotiate.
Accountability; Ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions and exert appropriate authority.
Interpersonal Skills; Empathy, understanding, listening skills, patience and ability to work co-operatively with others in a multi professional team.
Able to change and adapt, respond to changing circumstances and to cope with setbacks or pressure.
Desirable Experience in endometriosis Participation in writing a guideline Presentation of audits/QUIPs/Research at local or national meetings Participation in rota organisation/administration
