Senior Rehab Assistant Community Neuro

Job summary The neuro rehabilitation assistant is an active member of a team providing high quality, evidence-based rehabilitation for patients with neurological conditions, including Acquired Brain Injury, in the community.
The rehabilitation assistant will take referrals from the therapy teams.
They will work both independently and with supervision to deliver individualised therapeutic treatment, working towards patient-centred goals.They will hold and plan their own caseload together with advice and support from therapy staff.
They will see patients as lone workers, monitor the patient's condition and progress and report back to the qualified team members.

** Person Specification Education/Qaulification Essential NVQ in Health Studies Level 3 or equivalent knowledge acquired through training, short courses or experience in health or wellbeing.
General school qualifications GCE/GCSE Maths and English Desirable Short courses in neurology and/or rehabilitation.
Experience Essential Recent experience of working in a relevant health or social care environment.
Experience in rehabilitation Knowledge of rehabilitation within neuro rehab Experience working with people with physical, cognitive, behavioural and communication disabilities Skills & Knowledge Essential Good standard of written and spoken English Ability to work independently and as part of a team Computer literacy Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010) Desirable Understanding of the principles of rehab Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology Commitment to further learning & development
