Main duties of the job We are looking torecruit an enthusiastic and passionate Senior nurse to provide Children Young People (CYPs) palliative care as partof a multi-disciplinary team, working in Chestnut Tree care team.
Childrenspalliative care involves delivering short respite breaks aimed at having funand living well with life limited conditions as well as end of life care.We have a mixture ofpaediatric nurses, adult nurses and learning disability nurses working in theinhouse team.
As a senior nurse you will line manage a small team of juniornurses and care support workers, and demonstrate the ability to lead and inspireto ensure the provision of excellent clinical care.The post holder willalso have opportunities if desired, to develop in and support community shortbreaks in children and young peoples homes.

The post holder will have theopportunity to develop skills and contribute to these areas of development.Due to remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.
About us Please visit our website to find out more information about Chestnut Tree House and the Southern Hospice Group: Job description Job responsibilities As an in-house Senior Nurse at ChestnutTree House you will provide leadership and support to the team whilstdelivering specialist palliative care to the children, young people and theirfamilies on our caseload including respite provision and end of life care.
Person Specification Experience Essential At least 2 years relevant experience in a band 5 registered nursing role including palliative care/nursing children with life threatening and life limiting conditions.
Excellent clinical skills and knowledge and a full set of up to date clinical competencies Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, transferable within a range of professional and family situations.
Ability to plan and deliver safe and effective clinical care in collaboration with parents/carers/young people.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Good organisational, planning and time management skills, and ability to adapt and reprioritise at short notice based on the immediate needs of our children/young people and families.
Ability to critically analyse research and promote and disseminate relevant findings in practice.
Mentorship qualification or equivalent Experience in supporting students on placement as a supervisor or practice assessor.
Competent IT skills.
