Job summary A busy role within a practice based in Bushbury, Wolverhampton serving 14500 patients.
The position is for 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday covering pm, with participation in the rota for a Saturday between Salary is negotiable.
Previous experience in a GP practice or health care setting is preferable, however team leading is essential as is the ability to organise and prioritise daily workloads.
Main duties of the job Managing a team of 14 reception staff alongside providing a reception service to patientsSupporting/organising clinical and reception rotaAdministrative duties About us Prestbury Medical Practice is based in Bushbury, Wolverhampton.
The practice relocated to purpose-built premises in July 2023.
We have 6 GP Partners with 4 salaried GP's and a team of clinical and administrative teams.
We are part of Wolverhampton North Network and are one of 7 practices within the network.We offer 5 weeks annual leave, Bank Holidays (pro-rata), free on site parking, uniform and NHS Pension.
Job description Job responsibilities RotaOrganise clinical rotas and co-ordinate leave requestsUpdate appointments system for leave/duty changes Set up and maintain computerised appointment system for all services Arrange locum cover, where needed Complete staff rotas, including weekend cover Liaise with management team concerning staffing and organisation of work Attend Partners meetings as necessary.Patient services Participate in the reception rota, including weekend cover Oversee the appointment system for the practice Administration of patient prescriptions (manually and computerised).
Make appointments for patient to see Doctor, Nurse and other clinical staff associated with the Practice.
Deal with telephone enquiries from patients and general public Manage phone system and issuesStaff Support staff induction, training, appraisals and ongoing review Monitor staff attendance and leave requests Ensure practice policies are followed and maintain administrative records Liaise with other members of the primary health care team, including external teams Ensure fire safety/alarm protocols are adhered to Ensure staff are appropriately trained, supervised and are aware of practice protocolsAdministration Responsible for administration and maintenance of petty cash Administer patient cash payments for services providedInformation Ensure communication systems are running smoothly, doctors and reception staff are kept fully informed of changes in procedures Assist with production and upkeep of Practice Procedures documents Manage paperwork systems including post, internal and external Have a working knowledge of all software and hardware Person Specification Qualifications Essential Supervisory/Team leading experience.
Desirable GCSE qualification in English and Maths Previous experience in health care setting or GP practice Previous customer service/reception experience
