Senior Quality Engineer Oxford, Oxfordshire Up to £50,000 p.a.
Support the production line with supplier related quality issues to promote a culture of Right First Time (RFT).
Facilitate rework / repair of supplier related non-conformances with both the internal and external composites suppliers.
Manage and maintain the quality inspection, moulding inspection, and final inspection respective dashboards by overseeing the quality inspection team.
Prioritise the daily inspection requirements and targets, implement corrective actions from inspection errors, ensure that pass/failure data is communicated to stakeholders and monitor trends.
Liaise and develop suppliers via PDCA interactions to improve supplier performance.
Conduct goods inwards quality control for critical moulded components to ensure the capture, reporting and resolution of quality related non-conformities is undertaken in an efficient and timely manner.
Monitoring and maintain the company Quality Assurance database (NCR) for supplier related issues to understand the failure modes to improve supplier performance.
To liaise with the production quality engineer to understand the production impact of non-conforming supplied parts.
Providing QA data to assist the Head of QHSE and Supply Chain Lead in understanding supplier performance and in setting supplier targets.
Main Duties: Recording of all Moulding Inspection reports and raising Service Calls (Non-conformity Reports to enable QA related issues to be clearly identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
Perform supplier development activities via on-site supplier visits and audits to support root cause analysis and the verification of corrective actions.
Monitor and maintain the goods Inwards QA inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet required drawings and quality standards, whilst ensuring continuity of supply to production.
Supporting the Purchasing Team to collect and review supplier metrics with the target of improving supplier performance/ parts delivery into factory.
Feedback of quality data to production teams by means of regular meetings to include team leaders and supervisors, highlighting areas for improvement.
Provide information for quarterly reports on supplier quality performance.
Liaise with the manufacturing engineering team to facilitate manufacturing change.
Liaise with engineering / design and manufacturing regarding engineering changes to define process parameter and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
Assist in the supplier approval process and new product launces to ensure that supplier quality meets the standards.
Qualifications and Experience: Relevant manufacturing/engineering/Science degree preferred.
Minimum of five years previous experience in similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment.
Certification in quality management.
Leadership experience is advantageous.
Strong supplier validation auditing skills, with strong supplier development success and supplier APQP.
Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Experience of product inspection advantageous.
Ability to present data effectively, with excellent analytical skills.
Strong knowledge and application of 8D,FAIR, PPAP & FMEA.
Knowledge of AS9100 (preferable but not restricted to), minimum knowledge of ISO 9001.
Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices
