Job Title: Senior QA Engineer
Location: 52 Lant Street, Borough, London, SE1 1RB (hybrid)
Salary: 45,000 – 50,000 (Pro rata)
Job Type: Part-time, 4 months fixed term contract
Working Hours: 2 days a week, exact days and hours will be mutually agreed

About Us:
Over the years, we have developed a bespoke Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, featuring a Microsoft Access front-end and a SQL Server back-end.
Our system is integrated with a CRM platform and a reporting portal.
The Role:
We are now seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our small and dedicated development team to establish a comprehensive QA infrastructure for our development environment.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the quality assurance process for our custom ERP system.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing in-depth QA testing for each release, ensuring the highest standard of quality, and developing both manual and automated testing frameworks.
Additionally, you will define and implement best practices for QA within our development team.
This role is ideal for a seasoned QA professional looking to make a significant impact on our QA environment while ensuring that our team can independently manage future quality assurance efforts.
Responsibilities: Design and Implement QA ProcessesDevelop a tailored QA process specific to our ERP system, including both the Microsoft Access front end and SQL back end.Establish a structured framework for both automated and manual testing, ensuring thorough coverage of functionality, performance, and system integration.Test Script Development and ExecutionWrite and review detailed test scripts, test cases, and scenarios to ensure comprehensive testing, including regression, functional, and performance tests.Collaborate closely with the development team to identify areas requiring testing and ensure adherence to QA standards.Tool Selection and ImplementationIdentify and implement appropriate testing tools (e.g., automated testing tools, bug-tracking systems) that integrate well with our current development environment.Performance and Load TestingEstablish strategies for performance and load testing to ensure our ERP system remains stable under various user loads.Train the team to conduct and interpret performance tests independently in the future.QA Metrics and ReportingDevelop a process to track QA metrics (e.g., bug tracking, test coverage, test pass/fail rates) and ensure these metrics are easily monitored by the product manager and other relevant team members.Ongoing Support and Follow-upOffer support post-implementation to address any issues and ensure a smooth transition to the new QA processes.Conduct follow-up assessments to ensure that the team is confident in maintaining and expanding the QA processes.Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior QA Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience in setting up QA frameworks and processes for complex systems.Expertise in Microsoft Access and SQL Server testing environments.Strong experience in implementing automated and manual test frameworks.Ability to guide and mentor teams in establishing long-term QA solutions.Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or other relevant Quality Assurance certifications are desirableBenefits: Flexible working hours22 days' annual leave (additional days for length of service) plus bank holidaysEmployee pension schemeTravel season ticket loanCycle to work schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeHealth Cash PlanCharity volunteering opportunities and social activitiesFree breakfastMonthly massagesDog friendly officePlease Note: Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.
