Job summary Step 2 and 3 of the NHSTalking Therapies Hampshire service is provided in partnership by Solent Mind(Step 2) and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Step3).
PWPs are employed by Solent Mind to deliver low intensity support.This role involves supervising / line managing a group of PWPs whilstmaintaining a reduced clinical caseload, under the guidance of the Hub LeadPWP.
You will have opportunities to explore yourareas of interest and contribute to the ongoing development of our servicethrough Special Interest Groups, projects, and working groups.We have two positions available.

You have athorough understanding of clinical practice at Step 2 and confident in yourability to make clinical decisions.
You enjoy coaching others and can communicateclearly, especially in complex or sensitive situations.

Job description Job responsibilities PurposeThe purpose of this role isto supervise/line manage a team of PWPs whilst maintaining a reduced clinicalcaseload, under the guidance of a Hub Lead PWP.
You will need a secureknowledge of low intensity treatments to be able to support PWPs with clinicaldecision making.
There is a duty/screening element to the role and at times youwill need to discuss complex cases in liaison meetings with external servicesto ensure the most appropriate level of care for patients.
You will be have theopportunity to be involved in the ongoing development of our service throughSpecial Interest Groups, projects, and working groups.Principal AccountabilitiesClinicalSupportPWPs in clinical decision making through Clinical Caseload ManagementSupervision (CCMS) to identify appropriate treatment options for the presentingsymptoms of their patients.If adecision on treatment cannot be decided in CCMS ( due to complexity)discuss this with a Lead PWP or the wider SPWP team to agree the best course ofaction.Support the Telephone and Referral Centre(TARC) on a weekly rota basis.
This includes calling patients that haveidentified risk concerns at referral to risk assess and follow suitable nextsteps.Screen referrals and make decisions on suitability forour service following NHSTT protocols.
Providerisk supervision / debriefs to PWPs when needed.
Liaise with external services to coordinate patientcare through multidisciplinary meetings, emails, or phone calls.Workon a rota basis to provide evening duty cover for the clinical team andprovide additional cover for sickness/annual leaveMaintaina reduced clinical caseload alongside managerial responsibilities.Work closely with external services and colleagues inStep 3 (High intensity), ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place in linewith the stepped care approach and no wrong door policy.Complete all requirements relating to data collectionand recording within the service.Recording all clinical and nonclinical activity on ourpatient management system in a timely manner.Complete Patient Experience Questionnaires (PEfaceQs)with patients.ManagementProvide line management, clinical skills groups,and clinical supervision for PWPs as needed.
Support supervisees to participate in ongoingprofessional and personal development.Identify training needs and opportunities forcontinuing professional development (CPD).Shortlisting and interviewing Assistant, Trainee,and Qualified PWPs candidates.Deliver training and induction sessions as needed.Confirm PWPs competence to practice by assessingtheir work through live supervision, auditing notes, and case managementsupervision.Ensure that line managed staff maintain appropriateIAPTus clinical records in keeping with service operational policy and or thatthese are in line with best clinical practice.
ProfessionalEnsure information governance processes arefollowed and respond to incidents in a timely manner, in compliance with GDPRprotocols.Prepare for and attend clinical/managerial supervisionon a regular basis.Attend all supervisions, wellbeing meetings, and servicemeetings.Participate in individual annual appraisal review andrespond to agreed service objectives.Attend relevant conferences / workshops/ training.Keep up to date all records in relation toContinuing Professional Development (CPD) and ensure personal development planmaintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and servicedelivery models/developments.
