The project: We are now recruiting for a senior project manager to work with our strategic client in the energy sector supporting a major project in electricity transmission. The senior project manager role is an opportunity to be a part of our expansion and help us deliver distinctive value for our clients - by managing and delivering key projects and programmes on behalf of our clients. Specifically, we are seeking experienced candidates who can evidence their success in:
Management of projects during pre-construction phases, in particular through optioneering, development and consenting.Delivering client projects to time, cost and quality requirements within regulated sectors.Management of health, safety and environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle.Management and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes.This role is based in the Leeds regional office with travel throughout the UK, depending on the location of project sites.
You'll be responsible for: Managing programme, budget and risks throughout the project lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and standards, and CDM regulations.Providing regular/monthly updates which include health, safety and environmental performance, milestone and activity progress, risk and opportunity management, and financial performance.Developing projects during the early phases of the lifecycle, including the development, optioneering and consenting stages, to ensure robust, innovative designs and deliverable programmes are in place.Management of the design stage, including review of the proposals for SHESQ management, project risks, deliverability, programme and safety performance.Supporting the tendering process of projects pre-delivery, working with procurement and commercial teams to develop appropriate contracting strategies, and providing expert input to the production of Scope, Site and Works Information.Management of project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements.Acting as the key interface between the project and both internal and external teams and stakeholders, maintaining and developing relationships.Managing and co-ordinating contractors and project teams, including the co-ordination and integration of projects across delivery interfaces, to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with minimal disruption.Managing complex third-party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations and community stakeholders.Chairing monthly progress and cost review meetings and regularly attending weekly site meetings.Leading others effectively, gives clear direction and coaches and supports others to reach their full potential.Persuading and influencing others successfully towards a desired course of action.Demonstrating a better perspective and exploring innovative approaches in pursuit of a better way.Presenting clearly and communicating effectively in a confident manner.You'll need to have: Experience in electrical infrastructure projects.Experienced in relevant legislation as applicable to complex projects.Good understanding of HS&E management systems and requirements.Experienced in environmental management and control.Good understanding of technical documentation.Experienced in the management of NEC contracts in project delivery.Knowledge of risk management processes for both schedule and cost analysis.Knowledge of project handover records.Experienced in formal hazard review process.Understanding of procurement associated with complex projects.You'll also have: Degree qualified with a minimum of five years' relevant regulated industry experience OR HNC /HND qualified with a minimum of seven years' relevant regulated industry experience.Member of a relevant professional institute.Recognised training or qualifications in health, safety, environmental (e.g. NEBOSH, SMSTS or IOSH).Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
