You will be working on a variety of projects in a wide range of sectors including, Sports & Leisure, Commercial, Occupier & Residential.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLETo lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects.To act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.SCOPEProject Managers handle commissions of varying scale and value; depending upon the complexity of the project etc., the normal would be up to £40m in value.
However, where the service provided is advisory in nature, for example advising on urban re-generation funding, the overall project size may be much larger.Project management, to include:Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client's overall objectivesLeading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parametersPlanning for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issuesEstablishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout projectProject planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project planAdvising upon the procurement of resourcesLeading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project teamMonitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPI's to improve project performanceManaging the change control processMonitoring and advising upon project financesManaging the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communicationsEnsuring the production of formal project progress and other reportsTaking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesMarketing and business development, to include:Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clientsIdentifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunitiesWorking with Associate Directors and Directors to construct bids for new workAttending formal client pitches with Assistant Directors and DirectorsEnsuring that project case study, photograph and project CV files are kept up to dateIdentifying and acting upon opportunities to improve project management products and servicesInternal management accountabilities, to include:Staff management (where appropriate) – Inputting into the formal management of an Assistant Project Manager or small project management team, to include 1st round recruitment interviews, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisalsKnowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal databaseFinancial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilising FMS in order to monitor a project's financial statusProcess improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processesQualificationsExperience and Skills:Degree qualified in relevant disciplineProfessionally qualified (MCIOB / APM or similar)Proven experience managing Real Estate projects, ideally in a consultancy environmentAbility to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.Company Values Statement:We endeavour to create a work environment that reflects the culture of the company, and we encourage every member of our staff to embrace our commitment to be:Professional, Quality Driven, Goal Orientated, Customer Focused, Continuously Improving, Flexible, Open & Integrated.Company Vision:To become the leading global provider of professional services to the natural resources, infrastructure and property markets, rewarded for the value we create.Additional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
