Do you have a Programme/Project Management accreditation e.g PRINCE 2, Agile, MSP Who We Are As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services We have six regional centres Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Hillington, Cardonald and Clydebank.
NHS 24 supports hybrid working, and this post can be based within any NHS 24 regional centres.
The successful candidate must be within commuting distance to a regional centre to attend if required and must also be able to travel to other regional centres when requested to attend meetings, undertake training and any other activities.
The Role.. NHS 24 are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager with their Transformation, Strategy, Planning and Performance Directorate within the Organisational PMO function.
The role will involve the development of new services from inception through implementation and realisation of benefits, review of existing services, and support to the National Boards Collaborative.
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to lead in establishing the structure and format of project, engage key stakeholders through workshops, meetings to drive forward the programme of work.
The post holder will lead projects using the appropriate project methodologies through to delivery at a local, organisational, or national level, depending on the scope and scale of the project.
The Senior Project Manager will communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the successful delivery of Projects that may consist of multiple complex work streams as part of the TSPP Directorates Programme of Work as prioritised by the Executive Team and in meeting the NHS 24s Strategy.
Supporting the wider directorate with strategy implementation, organisational change initiatives and provide support to the National Boards Collaborative Support the transformation of NHS 24s existing services and support functions through the provision of expertise across the Directorates structure: Engagement and Insights, Digital and TSPP The scope of work covers all areas of Project Delivery within NHS 24 incorporating people, processes, technology, and information management Accountable for the delivery of complex projects that will require them to lead multiple disciplinary teams Manage dependencies of varying complexity, potentially planning, and feeding into larger programmes and portfolios Manage risks, commercials, budgets, and resource Balance complex deliverables in an environment where priorities can change Responsible for understanding, managing, and communicating between complex stakeholder groups, balancing priorities Escalation point for the Project and develop an understanding of wider NHS 24 Portfolio and Strategy The successful applicant will: Educated to degree level or equivalent; with post-graduate professional education or have equivalent experience of project and portfolio management Programme / Project Management methods e.g.
PRINCE 2, Agile or MSP accreditation Significant practical experience in the management of large programmes of work with a scope and range overarching several departments/an organisation.
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and best practice.
Experience of and knowledge of core business analysis work including data modelling, requirements capture, process design, requirements analysis, functional specifications, high-level design.
Effective leadership skills Ability to build effective relationships, influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders Benefits: NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 7 £48,788 - £56,747* (pro rata).
Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
