Vårgrønn is an agile, Norway-based offshore wind company powering the energy transition through development, construction, operation, and ownership of offshore wind assets.
Vårgrønn is a joint venture between the energy company Plenitude (Eni) and the Norwegian energy entrepreneur and investor HitecVision.
Vårgrønn holds a 20% share in Dogger Bank, the world's largest offshore windfarm under construction, and has together with Flotation Energy been awarded exclusivity to develop up to 1.9 GW from the offshore floating windfarms Green Volt and Cenos in Scotland.
Green Volt will be Europe's first commercial scale floating offshore wind farm.
We are collaborating with Equinor to develop a floating offshore wind project at Utsira Nord in Norway of up to 750 MW, and the Baltics, Vårgrønn is leading a collaboration with European Energy towards the upcoming auction round in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
In Ireland, we are partnering with Energia Renewables to develop offshore wind projects of up to 1.8 GW.
Our organisation is based in Stavanger, Oslo, and London, and is expanding to meet our strategic goals and drive offshore wind forward in Northern Europe.
Read more about Vårgrønn: https://www.vargronn.com This position will be the Technical Project Manager in the Green Volt project team, a pioneering floating offshore wind project, for which Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy was awarded a UK Government Contract for Difference.
The project will be a catalyst for the creation of a robust floating wind supply chain in the UK, and an essential steppingstone from current small-scale projects to gigawatt-size developments.
Green Volt represents an important leap towards the 5GW floating offshore wind target the UK has set for 2030, and the benefits of Green Volt will be felt beyond the UK, being a catalyst for the development of floating wind elsewhere in Europe.
Key responsibilities for the role: Overall responsibility for the technical project team Manage and provide day to day leadership to the technical project team members Responsibility for definition, optimization and integration of the project realization with due regard to the project commercial drivers, schedule and budget.
Plan, quality assure and monitor all study and engineering activities and deliverables Technical sign-off of critical project contracts, design and concepts.
Secure the right technical maturity for the concept at given Decision Gates.
Experience and qualifications: We are looking for candidates with a comprehensive understanding of, and experience from, operational and strategic project development, preferable within offshore wind, including all disciplines and packages involved in offshore wind projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a commercial mindset and strong business acumen, as well as a solid understanding of relevant regulatory legislation, joint venture agreements, and key contracts.
We seek a forward-thinking individual with high ethical standards, who is systematic, structured, and capable of preparing and executing plans.
Additionally, the ability to foster open and trusting relationships within the team and contribute to a positive work environment is crucial, as this is a key position within the project.
