3 days a week in the office)Marshall, an independent, family-owned British company, proudly helping our customers move forwards since 1909Why join Marshall in this role of Senior Programme Manager?This Project Management role is accountable and responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of technical development and/or production projects ensuring the timely delivery of equipment versions/variants to agreed programme timescales.Working within an applied matrix organisation (in collaboration with the engineering, procurement, supply-chain and production departments) the role will foster and encourage the culture and operational effectiveness of Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).As a member of the Bids and Programmes job family, you will support an integrated – whole Marshall – Life Cycle Management Processes (LCM) and Business Management System (BMS) and bring your experience and knowledge to support the wider team.Key Responsibilities for Senior Programme Manager include:Accountability for all project requirements (e.g.
technical, commercial, project management, delivery etc., both internal & external), ensuring they are clearly understood from the outset and documented in the appropriate Project Documentation set.Accountability for the engineering development phases of the project(s), including appropriate Phase Reviews, Design Reviews and Gate Reviews, ensuring:the Customer Requirements are interpreted and confirmed "Compliant", or addressed when "Partially Compliant" or "non-Compliant"all consequential requirements (e.g.
standards) be fully assesseddesign solutions meet the Business Line's "Design for Procurement" and "Design for Production/Manufacture" requirements,Design Gate Reviews of SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR and any B-Model FQT trials are fully completed.
Leading the Project(s) assigned IPT(s) for the designated/assigned Projects;Managing and resolving matters relating to costs, work schedules, commercial, technical and production issues.Working with the assigned Procurement & Supply Chain colleagues, managing subcontracts, and subcontract relationships, as required, ensuring delivery is in line with project(s) and overall programme needs.Ownership of the Project(s) budget, leading and approving allocation to the appropriate Work Package and associated WBS items.
Ensuring BAC, BAC(changes), EAC and ETCs are reviewed and reported accurately with any cost variance clearly understood; ensuring parametric and trend analysis results are fully utilised with little to no 'opinion based' reporting.
Generation of monthly SPI, CPI, whole EVM and CPA data as required from the integrated project schedules.Management of all other project financial targets in support of Revenue, Cash and Margin.Managing all associated bid, project and programme risks - with clear definition of risk description, cause, consequence (cost and schedule impacts) and mitigation plans; collaborating with assigned Project IPT colleagues – in particular assigned Project Controller(s), and Project Planner(s).Accountability for the Project Change Management regime (including maintenance of the Project Performance Measurement Baseline).Deputising for lead Programme Manager/Director for the Programme as required for events, absence periods (e.g., vacation) and other tasks and activities as drawn up by the lead Programme Manager/Director.Supporting the adherence of the Lifecycle Management (LCM) Processes.
Preparing and managing the tailored processes through governance sign-off".Supporting the co-ordination of resource requirements - ensuring data inputs are submitted to the IBP team for the bids and projects within the programme; presenting IBP foresight for upcoming activities.Supporting and managing effective 'Lessons Learned' (LFE - Learning From Experience) activities.Apply if you have most of the following:Proven experience in 'front line' programme management roles in the defence domain – undertaking delivery roles in one or more of a combination in Bids, Projects and/or Programmes, project-engineering / equipment-engineering, production and delivery.An in-depth knowledge of engineering development techniques for project and programme scope including: technical requirements management, development and qualification validation and verification phases, technical risk, concurrency of design and production, project planning, project control, change management, performance measurement, cost control and risk & opportunity management.
Experience in multiple execution methodologies is desirable.Experience of post-delivery support such as in-service product modification, with an understanding of DRACAS (Data Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System).Demonstrable experience leading and managing multi-functional teams in a collaborative matrix-managed 'IPT' environment.
Experience of procurement and supply-chain contract delivery and manufacturing processes in principle.
Experience of the full product development lifecycle of complex integrated systems; New Product Development (NPD) and New Production Introduction (NPI).Experience with reading and interpreting reports from Project Scheduling tools (e.g.
MSP, P6 Primavera) and Integrated Baseline Planning (IBP).Well versed in EVM, SPI and CPI, SRA and CPA and explain their full terms and how they are set-up and exercised on a Project and within a Programme of multiple projects.Experienced in managing multiple simultaneous project plans – directly, or via an assigned Project Controls.Experienced in the practical delivery of Risk Management within projects and/or programmes.Experience of team building, decision making, conflict management, providing feedback and mentoring colleagues.Desirable but not essential, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP); including APM Risk Level 2.Desirable: Technical background with competence in systems engineeringBased in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence and security operations across the globe.Other core services include the integration of complex systems into a range of vehicles for use by the military and security services including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances all underpinned by a full in-life managed service provision to ensure customers' equipment is available where and when they need it.#LI-Hybrid#LI-ER1
