Purpose of the job As the Senior Product Designer at Collinson, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing customer experiences across loyalty, travel, and benefit services for some of the world's most renowned brands.
You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering exceptional digital experiences by managing and evolving our design system while contributing to broader product design initiatives.
You'll be responsible for ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all design outputs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver best-in-class user experiences.

Key responsibilities Lead the creation and execution of user-centered product designs, delivering high-quality solutions that address both user needs and business objectives.
Lead the development, documentation, and governance of the organisation's design system to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.
Collaborate with product designers, developers, and brand teams to define and maintain scalable design components, patterns, and libraries.
Drive adoption of the design system across the organisation, acting as an advocate and providing training or support where needed.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the design system, incorporating feedback and iterating to meet changing user and business needs.
Contribute to broader product design initiatives, supporting the delivery of high-quality, user-centric solutions.
Stay informed about emerging trends, tools, and best practices in design systems and product design to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of innovation.
Knowledge, skills and experience required Knowledge: Product Design Principles: Deep understanding of product design principles, including usability, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and interaction design, to create solutions that balance user needs with business goals.
UX/UI Design: In-depth understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design processes, methodologies, and best practices for creating seamless, intuitive digital products.
Design Systems: Extensive knowledge of design systems, including their creation, maintenance, and evolution.
You'll be skilled in defining components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across multiple products.
Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and the ability to integrate inclusive design principles into the design system and product interfaces.
Digital Platforms: Familiarity with designing for various platforms, including web, mobile (iOS and Android), and responsive designs, ensuring that design system components adapt effectively across all touchpoints.
Tool Expertise: Proficiency in Figma is essential, as well as tools used for design systems and interface design such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Collaboration tools like Miro, Jira and Aha!
would be preferable.
Skills: Design System Management: Proven ability to create, manage, and scale design systems, including maintaining documentation, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, and advocating for their adoption across teams.
Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working closely with developers, product managers, and other designers to ensure the design system meets the needs of all stakeholders.
Component Design and Prototyping: Ability to design and prototype reusable components and interactions, ensuring that they are both aesthetically pleasing and functional across different contexts.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions, explain the value of the design system, and advocate for its usage across the organisation.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities to address complex design challenges, ensuring scalability and efficiency while maintaining high-quality user experiences.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring components are pixel-perfect and adhere to usability and accessibility standards.
Agility: Ability to thrive in Agile environments, quickly iterating on designs and system updates based on feedback and evolving requirements.
Experience: Portfolio of Work: A robust portfolio showcasing at least 5+ years of experience in experience design or UX/UI design, with examples that demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, design impact, and thoughtful user-centred solutions.
Product Design: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects and user-centric solutions.
Design Systems: Demonstrable experience in creating and managing design systems for large-scale applications or multiple product teams, showcasing a portfolio of work that highlights impact and scalability.
Digital Platforms: Familiarity with designing for various platforms, including web, mobile (iOS and Android), and responsive designs, ensuring that design system components adapt effectively across all touchpoints.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience collaborating with engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of design system components and aligning design goals with technical requirements.
Prototyping and Testing: Experience creating high-fidelity prototypes and conducting usability testing to validate design system components and patterns.
Agile Practices: Familiarity with working in Agile or Lean development environments, iterating designs and system updates based on user feedback and testing.
Additional Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field is generally preferred; a Master's degree can be an advantage.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in UX/UI design, human-centered design, or interaction design can strengthen a candidate's qualifications.
Continuous Improvement: Commitment to ongoing learning, staying up-to-date with evolving industry standards, design trends, tools, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
