Purpose of the job As the Senior Product Designer at Collinson, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing customer experiences across loyalty, travel, and benefit services for some of the world's most renowned brands.
You will be responsible for ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all design outputs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver best-in-class user experiences.
Key responsibilities Lead the creation and execution of user-centered product designs, delivering high-quality solutions that address both user needs and business objectives.
Lead the development, documentation, and governance of the organisation's design system to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.
Collaborate with product designers, developers, and brand teams to define and maintain scalable design components, patterns, and libraries.
Drive adoption of the design system across the organisation, acting as an advocate and providing training or support where needed.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the design system, incorporating feedback and iterating to meet changing user and business needs.
Contribute to broader product design initiatives, supporting the delivery of high-quality, user-centric solutions.
Stay informed about emerging trends, tools, and best practices in design systems and product design to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of innovation.
Knowledge, skills and experience required Knowledge: Product Design Principles: Deep understanding of product design principles, including usability, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and interaction design.
UX/UI Design: In-depth understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Design Systems: Extensive knowledge of design systems, including their creation, maintenance, and evolution.
Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and the ability to integrate inclusive design principles.
Digital Platforms: Familiarity with designing for various platforms, including web, mobile (iOS and Android).
Tool Expertise: Proficiency in Figma and tools used for design systems and interface design such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Skills: Design System Management: Proven ability to create, manage, and scale design systems.
Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working closely with developers, product managers, and other designers.
Component Design and Prototyping: Ability to design and prototype reusable components and interactions.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities to address complex design challenges.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail.
Agility: Ability to thrive in Agile environments.
Experience: Portfolio of Work: A robust portfolio showcasing at least 5+ years of experience in experience design or UX/UI design.
Product Design: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in product design.
Design Systems: Demonstrable experience in creating and managing design systems.
Digital Platforms: Familiarity with designing for various platforms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience collaborating with engineering teams.
Prototyping and Testing: Experience creating high-fidelity prototypes and conducting usability testing.
Agile Practices: Familiarity with working in Agile or Lean development environments.
Additional Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field is generally preferred.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in UX/UI design.
Continuous Improvement: Commitment to ongoing learning.
