Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, part time considered
Salary Range: Competitive dependent upon skills and experience.
We're looking for a Senior/Principal Neuro Psychologist to join our team at The Portland Hospital currently rated "Good" by the CQC.
Internationally renowned for clinical excellence, The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children.
Our inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.
Our Paediatric wards hold 56 inpatient beds + 11 day case and are equipped with the latest technology to provide advanced medical and surgical care, including a Paediatric Neurorehabilitation Unit and a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Child Psychologist with specialist experience of neuropsychological assessment or a Neuropsychologist to join our multidisciplinary therapy team.
You will work with children with a wide range of neurodisabilities and have the opportunity to set up and be responsible for an outpatient service as part of the role.
The successful candidate must have the knowledge and skills to provide quality care to our patients and their families who require long-term parental support through what is often a long journey of treatment.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes.Neuropsychology formulation, assessment and recommendations.Develop an individualized treatment plan for each child and their families.Educate family members on how to respond to certain behaviours.Provide psychological consultation to colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team.Teaching and training.Contribution to service developments.Provide complete documentation and records of assessments and treatments according to in-house policies.What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in psychology, a graduate degree in psychology, and a Ph.D. or Psy.D.
in clinical or child psychology.Minimum of five years' clinical experience working with children with neurological deficits.Candidates at post-doctoral level may be preferred.Approachable and empathic for children to feel comfortable.Knowledgeable of different therapeutic methods and adaptable to meet each child's needs.Excellent communication skills with children of different ages and backgrounds.Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal regulations.Willingness to attend team meetings and seminars on relevant topics.Why HCA UK?
