Senior or Principal Flood Risk Engineer Location: London
Experience: 5-12 years
Full Time Are you passionate about protecting the environment and keen to work with a team that will support your growth as an expert Flood Risk Engineer? We're on the lookout for a Senior or Principal Flood Risk Engineer, and this could be your perfect next step!
With at least 5 years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to dive into a variety of exciting projects. From high-profile regeneration schemes to urban developments, rail projects, and flood alleviation schemes, you'll play a key role in helping private and public sector clients manage flood risks and develop sustainable drainage strategies.
What your days will look like: Writing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) for private and public sector schemesDesigning SuDS and surface water drainage strategiesAttending meetings with clients, local authorities, and design teamsSpotting flooding risks and opportunities at development sitesReviewing and producing FRAs and drainage strategies with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainageUnderstanding hydrological and hydraulic modelling (Tuflow, Flood Modeller, FEH)Managing projects, finances, and mentoring junior staffWriting clear, concise reports (no waffle, just the essentials!)What you'll bring: A solid knowledge of NPPF, SuDS, and the planning systemExperience in hydrological and hydraulic modellingGreat communication and project management skillsPassion for mentoring junior engineersAbility to deliver top-quality work to clients (while staying calm under pressure!)What we're offering: Competitive salary + annual reviews26 days holiday (rising to 31 with loyalty days) + bank holidaysHybrid working arrangements (work-life balance is key!)Incredible training and development opportunitiesFast-tracked career progression for ambitious engineersMentoring from industry expertsOpportunities to be client-facing and support business developmentOur client has built a strong reputation within the industry for flood risk and modelling, and they're looking for someone like you to continue that success.
