More details of our locations, projects and services can be found on our website.
Cundall's Building Automation team's mission is to play a key role in making buildings more energy efficient, sustainable, and cost effective to operate – and we pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of designing innovative and sustainable mechanical and electrical solutions that minimise the use of natural resources.
The Building Automation team are a source of world leading expertise – and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development and professional excellence.
The Role Cundall is looking for an experienced Building Management System (BMS) design engineer with experience in either Process Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Controls And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems or Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) and BMS Supervisory systems.
Experience in the data centre sector and understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) is required.
An excellent knowledge of the control of mechanical plant and systems and the monitoring of electrical equipment is a must.
The BMS design engineer will work with the Client and design team (architect, civil, electrical, IT, mechanical, public health, structural engineers, etc.) to create data centre designs, make changes, comment on submittals, witness software bench tests, witness factory tests, review, and comment on the installation, and witness the completed installation.
Additionally, you will work in the Building Automation team (currently 16 team members globally) and advise on and develop technical standards, details, and specifications relating to controls and provide advice on appropriate control strategies.
The Data Centres are not always in the UK; weeklong business trips to the Data Centres could occur four to six times per year.
The Skills Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) (maintenance, commissioning, programming, and/or project management) and Building Services Automated Controls within either a consultancy or contracting organisation is essential.
Ideally, you have a demonstrable track record working with building management technologies, but more crucially, you have the enthusiasm to learn and develop your existing skills, and a desire to perform at the highest standard.
If you want to progress your career and design the systems and solutions that are implemented in the buildings of the future, this could be the role for you.
