Job summary We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician who would like to join our Procurement and Distribution team in the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital.
Applicants must have experience of working within a Pharmacy Stores as well as experience of a procurement environment.
Team leading experience and a good understanding of stock management is vital for this post.

Main duties of the job Supervising pharmacy assistants, stores supervisor and workflow within pharmacy stores Supporting with training within pharmacy stores and procurement teams Participating in reviewing SOPs Undertaking ward stock reviews and amending ward stock top-ups.
Stock control, ordering and supply of medicines to wards.
Daily ordering of pharmaceuticals for York Hospital Inputting contracts and dealing with supply issues Working with Senior members of the Procurement and Distribution teams to enable improvement and development in line with the Trusts priorities.

Person Specification Education Essential BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Desirable QCF Level 4 or above in a qualification relevant to the post.
Experience Essential At least one year, post-qualification experience.
Supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
Skills Essential Good communication & interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Participated in the implementation of changes in service, products and / or systems.
Problem solving Able to use a range of computer programmes relevant to the post Audit of practice and / or of the impact of a change in the way the service is delivered.
