The post holder will contribute to the delivery, development and assessment of university-based teaching for students on programmes within the School of Pharmacy at Aston University as part of the academic team.
This activity will be mainly but not limited to the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree.
You will be able to explore and will be supported to engage with clinical and pedagogic research within your area of interest/expertise.The post holders will be expected to participate in the on-call, extended hours, weekend and regular core duty rotas as appropriate at the Birmingham Children's Hospital site.
Main duties of the job The post holder will work with both the hospital and academic teams within the College of Health and Life Sciences at Aston University, pharmacy students and other healthcare professionals.
The post holder is expected to deliver Aston University related duties Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday mornings.
Thursday afternoons will be on site at the Birmingham Children's Hospital.
To co-ordinate the hospital-based teaching and experience for Aston University pharmacy students.
This training may be in the form of supervised ward visits, workshops and seminars.
The postholder may be required to back fill pharmacists to enable them to undertake the Aston University pharmacy student training To contribute to the pharmacy programmes at Aston University including but not limited to the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) and Overseas Pharmacist Course (OSPAP).
To develop and mark assessments.
To invigilate or staff live assessments Vivas or OSCEs.
To provide student feedback in accordance with university policy.
To provide pastoral support to allocated students.
To co-ordinate pharmacy student projects at Aston University.
Provide a clinical service to an allocated area.
To contribute to service improvement projects to ensure safety, efficiency and quality.
