Senior Payments Consultant My client is an exciting Fintech start-up and disruptive global data reconciliation and reporting pioneer.

Role – My client is looking for a Senior Payments Consultant to join their growing team.
You will be reporting to the Head of Payments Consulting and will play a pivotal role in advising and implementing payment solutions for their clients and optimising payment processes and the use of my client's platform.
The role requires deep expertise in fintech payments, including payment gateways, digital wallets, blockchain technologies, and regulatory frameworks such as PSD2.
You will work closely with their internal teams and clients to analyse current payment systems, propose innovative solutions, and ensure their solutions are robust, scalable, and optimised for performance.
Responsibilities Guiding clients on how to use their SaaS platform to achieve their reporting and reconciliation outcomes, including self-servicing of complex reconciliations in future.
Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for clients on reporting and reconciliation outcomes on a chargeable consulting basis.
Managing and overseeing reconciliations that are assigned to you under their Reconciliation-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, in which clients pay for you to manage reconciliations on their behalf.
Guiding more junior consultants & reconciliation officers on how to investigate and resolve reconciliation issues.
Ensuring that clients are promptly informed of issues relating to reconciliations.
Completing work defined in a Statement of Work (SOW) during the pre-sales/pilot phase, or after a client has signed their contract, to deliver the agreed reconciliation outcomes for that client and to meet their agreed / contracted deliverables.
Assisting and training other team members if required.
Working with the data analysts in building and verifying relevant reporting.
Supporting the team with additional ad hoc tasks.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of the client's reconciliation functionality by suggesting features that would deliver improvements to reconciliation outcomes for customers.
Building effective relationships both internally and externally with wider stakeholders.
Recording time spent on client-related work via their Jira work management system, ensuring that consulting work outside the scope of a Statement of Work can be billed to customers on a time-spent basis.
Creating relevant Statements of Work from time to time that are signed off by the Client's leadership team.
Your daily roles and responsibilities may evolve over time as we grow, enabling you to adapt and contribute your maximum value in each situation.
The role holder can be based anywhere in the UK, preferably within commuting distance of North-East and must be eligible to work in the UK.
The post holder needs the following characteristics and experience: 4+ years of fintech payments consulting, payment systems management or a similar role.
Competent use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and passionate about continuous improvement.
Ability to analyse complex payment processes, identify pain points, and recommend actionable solutions to improve efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder management skills and ability to work with other operational departments.
Highly effective at building rapport with clients at all levels.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
Adaptable and thrives in fast-paced environments.
Preferred skills Some knowledge of SQL for data querying and modelling Knowledge of Global Payments - understanding of cross-border payments, FX, and settlement processes.
Experience of working with companies in the Finance Technology Industry or regulated companies.
Innovative thinker who stays ahead of fintech and payment industry trends
