Senior Network Engineer – Bedfordshire Salary: Up to £65,000 Hybrid Working: 3 days on site per week An urgent requirement has arisen for a Network Engineer to join a team within a leading organisation in the Bedfordshire area.
As a Senior Network Engineer within the IT Infrastructure team your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the network systems.
The Network Engineer will work within the IT Infrastructure team with the focus on the detection, investigation and response to all network-related events and incidents.
Besides supporting day-to-day network operations, you will be working on various projects related to infrastructure upgrades and improvements with an expected split of 50% project activities and 50% BAU, escalation and ongoing support of underlying issues on the network.
Essential Skills: Previous experience in a system and Network Engineering role.
Experience with design and implementation of both wired and wireless networks.
Experience with network infrastructure rollout and firmware upgrades is essential.
Possess an understanding and knowledge of OSPF, IPSEC, VLAN, VXLAN, STP, VTP, HSRP, WAN, DHCP, Layer2 switching and SD-WAN technologies.
Must pose excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels in the business.
Good understanding of wireless protocols and management of corporate wireless networks.
Competency in administering Firewalls.
Must have CCNA or CCNP, CompTIA Network+ All relevant permits to work in the UK and security clearances (DBS and CTC).
