Senior Network Engineer – 3 Month Contract – Hybrid – Cardiff VIQU have partnered with an NHS client based in Cardiff, who are seeking up to two Cisco Senior Network Engineers with extensive expertise to assist with critical projects and operational work on a contract basis.
The Role: The successful Senior Network Engineer will support a range of projects, including migrating data centre infrastructure to Cisco ACI, wireless router migration, and implementing new Palo Alto firewalls.
You will bring extensive Cisco networking experience to architect, implement, and maintain advanced network solutions, ensuring seamless service delivery.
Key Skills and Experience: Extensive experience as a Senior Network Engineer with Cisco CCNP / CCIE accreditation.
Expertise in Cisco Enterprise Networking across Access, Distribution, and Core layers.
Strong knowledge of: Cisco ACI and Cisco UCS environments.
Dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, iBGP).
Wireless design, surveying (e.g., Ekahau), and troubleshooting.
Cisco Prime, SD-A, ISE, and DNA Centre.
Palo Alto and Cisco Firewalls/Firepower services.
Knowledge of VMware or other hypervisors.
Experience with IPV4 IPAM, DHCP, DNS, VPN, QoS, and infrastructure cabling (Cat6, MMF/SMF).
Ability to produce detailed technical documentation (SOPs, Visio diagrams).
