SRG is working with a rapidly growing Biopharmaceutical company in Surrey who is looking for a Fermentation Scientist to join the Fermentation R&D team.
Job Title: Fermentation Scientist (Equivalent to Senior) Vacancy type: Permanent Area: Surrey Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 Hours of work: 37.5 hours/week, typically worked within standard office/production hours.
Once or twice a month night shift cover will be required as necessitated by the R&D Programme Manager.
Looking for a highly motivated Fermentation Scientist to join the R&D team.
Within this company, this role is equivalent to a senior scientist.
Reporting to the Head of Fermentation R&D, you will be working on your own R&D projects around process development and optimisation.
In this role, you will have an opportunity to make a real impact on a rapidly expanding company that specialises in gut health products.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbial fermentation R&D, specifically working with bacteria and other microbes.
You will also have experience working on your own projects from start to finish, supporting fermentation R&D.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: To lead Fermentation R&D projects, plan and execute relevant experiments, perform troubleshooting and process optimisations in a scale down models with the aim of subsequent implementation at production scale.
To communicate the progress of on-going Fermentation R&D projects, draft project reports, contribute to project meetings, and present R&D results in written and oral formats as appropriate To lead a small team of Scientist(s) and/or Technician(s), nurture the skill and provide technical leadership to junior members of the team.
Analysis of the company's fermentation process and improve optimisation and standardisation.
Complete reports and communicate across divisions and senior management.
To contribute to the day-to-day running and management of an R&D laboratory.
Skills Required: Educated to a BSc, MSc or PhD level in a Scientific or Engineering related discipline and a relevant number of years industrial experience.
