Job Description Senior Mental Health Nurse Hourly Rate: £18 - £22 Shift Pattern: Mixed Shifts Hours: 40 hours per week Our client's mental health hospital in Leicester is dedicated to providing flexible, comprehensive care for women aged 18-65 with complex mental health needs.
The hospital is designed to create a therapeutic and supportive environment, focusing on individualised rehabilitation pathways for each patient.
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that promotes positive patient outcomes.
This role involves leading and inspiring a team to provide compassionate, structured, and therapeutic support within a holistic treatment framework.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and empathetic RMN with experience in a similar mental health setting, committed to guiding patients through their recovery journeys with professionalism and care.
Qualifications and Requirements Registered Nurse Qualification (Mental Health Nurse), with a current and valid NMC PIN.
Experience: Previous experience in a senior or leadership role in a mental health setting is preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients, families, and team members.
Empathy and Resilience: A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care, with the resilience to manage challenging situations effectively.
Commitment to Professional Development: A proactive attitude toward learning and staying up-to-date on best practices in mental health care.
Key Responsibilities Delivering the highest standard of care to support each patient's physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized care plans.
Supervising and guiding junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
Administering and monitoring medication, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with protocols.
Creating a safe, secure, and supportive environment conducive to patient rehabilitation.
Engaging with patients using a person-centred approach, upholding their dignity and promoting empowerment throughout their recovery.
Assessing and managing risk in a way that balances patient autonomy with their safety and well-being.
