Job Overview We require an experienced and dedicated Senior Medical Technologist specialising in respiratory equipment to join our dynamic team at the Lane Fox Unit. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and technical support of life-support equipment.
You will be required to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care, contributing directly to the well-being of patients in both hospital and community settings. You will have a scientific or engineering background, be able to demonstrate an ability to think logically and show a desire to work in a well-respected engineering team.

Main Duties of the Job Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine servicing and maintenance of life-support ventilators and other medical devices across the Hospital, Community, and satellite units.Safety Compliance: Perform safety checks to ensure all repaired equipment is mechanically and electrically sound, adhering to Departmental policies and manufacturers specifications.Reporting & Documentation: Document and report equipment defects, ensuring non-compliant devices are promptly withdrawn from service.Contamination Procedures: Follow specified procedures for handling and decontaminating of equipment.Calibration: Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure both accuracy and reliability.On-Call Support: Participate in a 24-hour On-Call Rota, providing emergency technical support.Working for Our Organisation The Lane Fox Respiratory Unit is committed to delivering exceptional care for patients with respiratory conditions. Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities Research & Development: Collaborate on research projects to assess and implement new medical technologies, working closely with medical and nursing staff to evaluate the suitability of new equipment prior to purchase.Training & Development: Lead in-service training programs for medical and nursing staff, ensuring they are proficient in operating and maintaining respiratory equipment. Provide hands-on training for patients and caregivers in the correct use and care of prescribed equipment.Field Service: Diagnose and repair equipment in patients' homes, ensuring their safety and comfort. Manage and maintain Trust-provided vehicles and tools, ensuring all resources are well-cared for.
