Parkside Recruitment are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team in Oxford.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
Develop and implement innovative and sustainable mechanical design solutions for buildings and infrastructure, including HVAC systems, heating, cooling, and water supply.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure an integrated design approach.
Conduct detailed calculations, simulations, and design work using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
Oversee junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
Attend client meetings, site visits, and design workshops, ensuring clear communication and effective project management.
Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, particularly with respect to sustainable and low-carbon technologies.
Essential Qualifications and Skills: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it), with membership in a relevant professional body (CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent).
Proven experience (5+ years) in mechanical engineering design within the building services or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, energy systems, and water services.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
A passion for sustainability and a commitment to delivering low-energy, environmentally responsible design solutions.
Desirable: Experience in delivering BREEAM, WELL, or LEED certified projects.
Knowledge of renewable energy systems and low-carbon technologies.
