Senior Mechanical Engineer Are you a passionate and innovative Mechanical Engineer looking to make a significant impact? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading Engineering and manufacturing business specialising in high-value, custom-made special purpose machinery and equipment for engineering organisations. In this role, you will be at the forefront of technical development, driving innovation and supporting projects that are shaping the future of high-tech products.
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Mechanical Engineer: Develop cutting-edge designs for complex hydraulic and electrical systems, ensuring all technical and quality standards are met. Conduct detailed technical investigations, evaluate options, perform supporting calculations, and prepare comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations. Create technical drawings, general assembly diagrams, and bills of materials to support the engineering process. Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment where they can thrive and grow. Analyse and communicate project risks and technical challenges, providing clear feedback to the Program Team. Support patent writing and ensure the overall system design complies with intrinsic safety and regulatory standards. What We're Looking For in a Senior Mechanical Engineer: Advanced mechanical engineering skills, with a solid foundation in theoretical and analytical design principles. Experience leading engineering development tasks and influencing the work of other engineers. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidEdge experience is a plus, but not required). Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details to non-technical audiences. A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications & Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering. Proven track record in developing and supporting high-tech products from concept through to delivery.
