Senior Mechanical Engineer Glasgow – Hybrid £50,000 - £60,000 What will you be doing as a Senior Mechanical Engineer: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver engineering design solutions and ongoing support for our military product range.
Acting as the team's technical lead, you will drive the development of new product designs to meet client specifications and support existing clients with equipment upgrades or modifications.
This role is ideal for a confident Senior Mechanical Engineer who is adept at making engineering decisions and managing a small team.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: Contributing engineering design expertise to the development of new products.
Providing engineering support for the current product range.
Evaluating technical inquiries and delivering engineering solutions across a broad portfolio of products.
Collaborating with internal teams such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure optimal technical solutions in all cases.
Identifying and sourcing appropriate components and materials as needed.
Generating part numbers and bills of materials.
Producing engineering documentation, including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certifications, and reports.
Reviewing detailed manufacturing drawings and related documentation.
Ensuring solutions meet both deadlines and budget requirements.
Complying with engineering and company standards and procedures.
Visiting other locations and client sites as required.
Acting as the technical approver for drawings and documentation produced within the Senior Mechanical Engineer role.
What are we looking for in a Senior Mechanical Engineer: Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical design Strong capability in performing design calculations In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes Comprehensive knowledge of gas and fluid systems Familiarity with pressure vessel design, including PD5500, ASME VIII, and EN 13445 standards Awareness of relevant design standards Understanding of industry guidelines, such as IMCA Prior experience in product design is advantageous Experience with PLM systems Mechanical engineering degree or substantial industry experience Please note this role requires eligibility for SC clearance.
