Vivid Technology is working on behalf of a leading RF Technology Group, who has just opened a state-of-the-art R&D facility in Lincoln, UK Our client is looking for the best-of-the-best - motivated and energetic individuals - to work on the most exciting new antenna and RF technologies.
You will work with customers worldwide and collaborate closely with engineers based in various sites in Europe, the USA, and Africa.

Description As a senior mechanical design engineer, you will team up with RF and antenna engineers on the design of antenna and RF subsystems for a variety of platforms and environments.
Our products are used in a diverse range of applications ranging from high-reliability communications systems, aerospace and defense applications, and medical treatments.
Many of the products we develop will be deployed in extreme environments such as submarines, tracked vehicles, aerospace, naval, and space-borne platforms.
Hard Requirements Education : Minimum: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Preferred: Master's degree in mechanical engineering Experience : 15+ years in product design for defence applications, environmental requirements, and qualification testing.
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor), working with suppliers, and collaborating with customers.
Computer Literacy : Required: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, MS Office Preferred: MATLAB, FEA tools Languages : Proficient in English Soft Requirements Strong product design skills, accountability, and a problem-solving mindset.
Wide-ranging experience in structures, enclosures, composites, and space/aerospace products.
Hands-on skills with prototyping, welding, and machining, plus comfort working in a multidisciplinary team.
Key Performance Areas: Mechanical Design (40%) : Concept development, CAD modeling, design optimization, and manufacturing drawings.
Supplier Collaboration (10%) : Managing supplier relationships and ensuring specialized fabrication/testing needs are met.
Prototyping and Construction (15%) : Building models, jigs, and specialized equipment while collaborating on prototypes.
Product Testing and Qualification (15%) : Overseeing environmental/mechanical testing, fault resolution, and updates.
Industrialization (10%) : Finalizing designs, production handover, and training staff for serial production.
Reporting (10%) : Creating technical reports, assembly instructions, and customer documentation.
