Due to continual business growth and development we are recruiting for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join us at our busy engineering site in Frome, Somerset.
Across our three buildings we manufacture gym equipment, taking it from raw steel and transforming it into luxury strength training equipment that is sent to customers all over the world.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build cross-functional relationships and be a positive influence within the project teams to support the future of the business and affect the production process.

Your duties: Own and improve manufacturing processes (Laser cutting, machining, welding, powder coating and assembly).
Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
Design factory layout and material flow.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, can include input to process specific risk assessments, COSHH data, technical reports, specifications.
Maintain manufacturing data i.e.
routings, production plans, control plans.
Lead OEE data collection and process improvements.
Be an ambassador for the Watson Brand, flexing your work ethic and behaviours accordingly.
Essential Experience Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience in role.
Excellent solid practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
Ability to articulate and explain technical understanding.
Good problem solving skills, data analysis skills.
Knowledge of related engineering disciplines and levels of interaction required within a project.
Experience implementing/using Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
Experience in fostering a collaborative work environment and promoting professional development.
Self-motivated and driven to be personally accountable for delivering effective outcomes and solutions.
Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop staff.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Practical hands-on approach.
Logical and structured approach to problem solving.
