Job description In the Finance Transformation team, we improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function and generate real insights to help deliver value to the business.

We are a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, working together with technology focussed professionals to deliver KPMG Powered Enterprise though a standardised delivery model, which drives professional delivery to clients.
The role will sit within our Finance Transformation team which brings together consulting professionals with a background in implementing change in finance functions for large corporate clients.
The team works with clients to improve the operating efficiency and effectiveness of their finance functions, often with improvements to their underlying technology solutions.
We aim to take out clients' finance functions beyond being "score keepers" and instead positioning finance as the "co-pilot" to the business, at the centre of driving growth and decision making.
Applicants should have prior experience in a large corporate, as well as in-depth knowledge of finance processes and technology.
They should also be able to demonstrate the ability to carry out the following activities: Engagement delivery:Mobilising and managing large transformation programmes including planning, managing and executing the delivery of engagementsManaging senior client stakeholdersIdentifying and exploring finance operating model improvement opportunitiesOverseeing the writing of client reports and the review and quality assurance of work productsManaging cross-functional engagement teams including both internal KPMG and external client team membersRisk management:Identifying and managing risks, managing engagement assurance, engagement commercialsEnsuring the Firm's risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectivelyBusiness development:Supporting the origination of opportunities for the firm through development of client relationships, and expanding existing engagements to address client challenges beyond the initial scope into further phases of workLeading the preparation of the Firm's response to client issued request for proposal (RFPs), including orchestrating multiple services lines to architect a comprehensive response for the clientBuilding and leveraging both internal and external relationships to support partners and directors to create business development and sales opportunities for the firm including pulling through other parts of the firm where appropriateDeveloping market leading materials and a voice-in-the-market through external blogs and points of view and representing KPMG at external events People development:Leading large teams and contributing to formal training, knowledge sharing, and networking activities for the teamSupervising, coaching and reviewing the work performed by peers and colleaguesTaking on performance management responsibilities for more junior grades, contributing to annual talent reviews and supporting career progressionActing as a mentor to colleagues within the team and in the wider firm, taking responsibility for cultural improvement and living the KPMG valuesPractice development:Leading the development of KPMG specific methodology and intellectual property to further our offerings in the marketSupporting partners and directors with internal operational responsibilities for the finance transformation team including revenue planning, resourcing, recruitment, wider team development and community building Our Finance Transformation offering looks across the finance function, implementing change to improve all layers of the operating model.Successful candidates should have:Extensive experience in the finance function of leading corporate companies, or client facing audit or consulting experience at a professional services firmHave a proven ability to manage and deliver end-to-end transformation programmes in a leading finance functionHave deep knowledge and understanding of core finance processes (eg.
record to report, procure to pay, order to cash, projects accounting) interdependencies with other processesA working knowledge of at least one of the major ERP technologies (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, WorkDay)Have a deep understanding of the operating model of a finance function including systems, data, processes, controls and governanceHave a proven ability to shape deliverables to meet desired client outcomesBe able to articulate the challenges currently facing finance functions including in relation to the future of the finance function and nascent technologyRelevant large corporates experience and knowledge in one or more of the following sectors: Aerospace & Defence, Consumer Markets, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, Leisure, Life Sciences, Retail, Technology, Media & TelecommunicationsCore skills and experience:Be a strong, inclusive people manager who can lead, coach, and develop diverse teams to deliver to deadlines and required quality standardsExcellent communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting internal and client relationships; and the ability to deliver clear, concise, focused messages to senior finance team members or clientsExperience of multiple enterprise software deploymentsRelevant finance qualification – ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalentKnowledge of how Finance processes are enabled within a finance systems landscape (with a focus of one of the major ERP technologies: Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, WorkDay)
