Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager – Data Centre – What's expected?
This project is based in Gloucester and involves the restructure and expansion of an existing data hall in a live environment. You will be based on site full-time with a team of project managers, site managers, and a QS to deliver this 52-week programme (from site start).
The scope includes creating a new white space, replacing existing generators, new Electrical LV infrastructure (Switchboards and distribution), new HV Tx, and diversion of existing HV supply.
Civil works involve ground clearance of trees and shrubs to make way for new mechanical equipment (Chillers), groundwork for new bases, etc.
Internal fit-out includes a steel frame for internal rooms, modifications to the existing building to form openings, installation of louvres, raised access floor installation, and mezzanine floor installation.
M&E includes usual DC items: mechanical cooling, AC, fire protection, BMS, containment, PDU's, cabling, comms, fire, etc.
Project value is £12M+.
As the M&E Project Manager, you will be expected to: Take full financial and delivery responsibility. Carry out financial forecasting and reporting of cost, sales, gross profit, and risk. Manage direct and indirect resources, supply chain, plant, materials, and logistics. Ensure that records, data, and systems are maintained up to date and in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures. Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager – Data Centre – What's needed?
While you don't need data centre experience to qualify for an interview, we are looking for:
Critical Infrastructure experience (Critical plant / Pharmaceutical / Hospitals). HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services / Mechanical Engineering. SMSTS. Black CSCS. First Aid. Full Driving Licence. What do you get?
You will receive a salary of £75,000 - £85,000 along with a package of:
£5,000 Car Allowance. Travel paid. 25 days + 8 days bank holiday. 5% / 4% pension. Perkbox. Access to higher learning education courses.
