An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Logistics Controller to join a well-established manufacturer experiencing significant growth.
The role involves overseeing and optimising domestic and international supply chain operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective logistics management.
The Role: Manage the end-to-end logistics process, including international shipments, customs clearance, UK storage, and transportation to various sites.
Select and onboard logistics partners, negotiate contracts, and establish KPIs to optimise service levels and cost-efficiency.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs procedures, and health and safety standards.
Develop and implement logistics procedures and systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to address supply chain challenges and streamline operations.
Continuously review performance, driving improvements in service delivery and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and monitor shipments, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
Supervise logistics, warehouse operations, and transportation activities.
Develop and maintain schedules for inbound and outbound shipments.
Research and implement cost-effective shipping methods, routes, and carriers.
Establish contingency plans to manage potential supply chain disruptions.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, ensuring high performance against agreed standards.
Analyse data, evaluate KPIs, and provide regular updates to the team on costs, issues, and solutions.
About You: Experience in international logistics management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise in handling heavy and break-bulk cargo.
Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics).
Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive approach to improving systems and processes, with a commitment to professional development.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
