As Senior Lawyer – Adult Social Care you will play a key role in advising on a broad range of matters involving vulnerable adults including Court of Protection matters including complex work and you will also be pivotal in supporting adult social care colleagues.
In this role, you'll benefit from the support of two dedicated legal officers, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.
With this high level of assistance, you can manage your time effectively, prioritize your caseload, and deliver the best possible outcomes for the council and the community.
The role: Undertake a caseload of Adult Social care matters Provide detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Mental Health Act 1983 Submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, for example COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, s21a challenges, judicial review and inherent jurisdiction You will be expected to attend court, negotiate, and conduct your own advocacy About you: Be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with up-to-date practicing certificate Be an excellent negotiator, with first rate communication skills at all levels of seniority Possess demonstrable experience of working within and providing advice regarding adult social care Rewarding you: Competitive salaries and a generous annual leave package.
