Senior Integration Engineer 1 day per week in the office This is a brand new and exciting role to take ownership of the integration strategy at a FTSE company with bold ambitions for their technology appointment after their appointment of a CIO earlier in the year.
They are a Microsoft house so technologies will be centred around Azure however they're looking for the successful individual to come in and take ownership of the tech used and make recommendations for this as well as the wider strategy.
We have two roles available with this being the senior opportunity, working closely with heads of departments to achieve a centralised model across applications and systems.
This role is critical to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, ensuring robust integration architecture, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.
Combining technical expertise with a problem-solving mindset, the ideal candidate will work closely with both IT and business teams to understand requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Develop integration solutions using middleware platforms and tools.
Design integration architectures, ensuring scalability, robustness, and data integrity.
Write and maintain code for system integrations and data transformation processes.
Deploy integration solutions in development, testing, and production environments.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements for integration projects.
Conduct testing to ensure that integration solutions meet both functional and performance expectations.
Monitor and maintain existing integrations to ensure optimal functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to integration processes.
Provide ongoing support and implement enhancements to improve existing solutions.
Document integration processes, configurations, and workflows.
Ensure that all integration solutions comply with organisational policies and industry standards.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support system maintenance and upgrades.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and system administrators, to meet integration objectives.
Communicate project timelines, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders effectively.
Provide training and support to end-users and technical staff regarding integration solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience in integration development and support.
Strong knowledge of API management tools (e.g., Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).
Experience with API design, development, and consumption.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their associated integration services.
Familiarity with data formats and transformation methods (XML, JSON, XSLT).
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of integration patterns and best practices.
Experience with REST, SOAP, and other web services.
Proficiency in SQL and database technologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with low-code/no-code integration platforms is a plus.
