Main duties of the job Define key outcomes as well as metrics of impact on people with spinal injuries, families, staff and volunteersDesk based research to understand relevant measurements and best practice in the field.
This would also involve working with research bodies, such as NPC, Pro Bono Economics and Oxford University and other spinal injury charitiesDesign a research and impact evaluation protocol, working with the garden teams across the UK and critically the NHSDevelop and submit research ethics application to the NHS, as requiredImplement the protocol, working with Horatio's Garden teams to implement and embed systems, processes and tools to collect data and evidenceAnalyse data and evidence alongside the Patient Experience Lead to support the development of new strategies to ensure we are offering the best possible experience for people with spinal injuriesProgramme monitoring develop systems to monitor and evaluate the charity's arts and gardening programmesAct as the internal and external lead for monitoring and evaluation including the development and management of the charity's yearly data collection gathered by the University of Oxford Crankstart internship programmeProduce reports and presentations as requiredDeveloping the impact strategy for the future About us AtHoratio's Garden, we build and look after extraordinary gardens in the heart ofNHS spinal injury centres.
These gardens are a critical part of rehabilitationand offer reflection and adjustment, privacy and solace, joy and companionshipto all who need it.
We lead regular gardening sessions to grow and cultivateplants, arts workshops to offer new skills, and a programme of live music andevents.
Designed to be enjoyed all year round, these gardens offer a warm,welcoming place for family and friends who may have travelled hours for avisit.This new role is vital to help us develop and deliver animpact evaluation protocol to investigate how the gardens and horticultureactivities in Horatio's Garden affect patients and patient outcomes to drive improvement,innovation, fundraising and advocacy.As a charity we are committed to creating and promoting aculture that protects and preserves the welfare of the vulnerable people in ourcare.
