We are looking for an experienced, dedicated professional and highly motivated individual to join our well-regarded team responsible for the continued development, enhancement and ongoing delivery of cyber security processes and functions for approximately 15, employees.
Reporting to the Information Risk Manager within the Council's Business and Digital service, this is a critical role in the continued development and implementation of the council's information risk management function.
You will be part of a team whose remit is to design, develop and maintain the council's suite of cyber and information security controls which protect both IT systems and the data they process.
You will be working predominantly on aspects of technology and process change associated with The Plan for North Lanarkshire and the Digital and IT Strategy.With an SVQ4, HND, degree or equivalent in a related discipline, you should have experience of contributing to the delivery of cyber security programmes and adoption of new security-related processes and technologies.
You should have detailed demonstrable knowledge of at least two security-related technological disciplines, and a broad understanding of generic IT technologies.
A cyber security qualification e.g.
CISM, CISSP is desirable.
Ideally, you will have significant experience of operating in an ICT operational, development or technical support role, or of role fulfilment in in support of information security governance, risk and compliance programmes.
Self-motivated, you must be able to work to objectives and meet targets, whilst reacting appropriately and quickly to challenges.
You will be an excellent communicator with organisational skills; report writing is a key skill, and you must have the confidence and ability to present information to others in a meaningful, concise and appropriate manner.Project management experience or involvement in delivering IT project work would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite for the role.
What is required is an analytical mindset and ability to act on initiative.In summary, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with some related experience to move into cyber security but would equally suit someone with more explicit subject matter expertise.
