Senior Healthcare Technical Officer (Shto)

Job summary You will be performing a range of technical activities to support the manufacture of advanced therapeutic medicinal products and cryopreservation of stem cells.We will provide you with an extensive induction and training programme and ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.
Main duties of the job You will be required to clean, maintain and perform environmental monitoring of the cleanroom suite to a high specification.
This will require wearing cover-all garments while inside the clean rooms.You will be required to maintain stocks and reagents in-line with MHRA regulationsThe role will require you to work standard hours and days.
Occasionally there may be a requirement to work some evenings, weekends and bank holidays depending on the project schedule, but with appropriate noticeYou will be required to manually handle equipment on a daily basis weighing up to 13 kgs, with or without mechanical aids, with appropriate trainingYou will be responsible for the support and training of new and less experienced staff About us It takes all types of people to deliver the kind of service that saves and improves lives.

27 days annual leave (pro rata for part-time) plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 29 days after 5 years service and to 33 days after 10 years.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential BTEC or HNC (Level 4) in a science subject, or similar qualifications relevant to the area of the organisation the postholder will be working in.
OR Equivalent knowledge & experience of a wide range of blood processing, testing and/or issuing procedures and techniques demanding intermediate level theoretical knowledge aquired through formal training.
OR NHSBT Foundation degree.
Evidence of furthering personal development.
Experience Essential Experience of supervising others Experience of working with Information Technology such as Microsoft Office
