Do you want to be part of a constantly varied speciality whilst maintaining and learning new skills?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient focussed healthcare assistant to join our friendly team of radiology nurses.
The successful candidate will assist with interventional imaging procedures for patients across acute and non-acute pathways, ordering supplies on the unit 4 system, as well as caring for patients before and after their procedures.
We welcome applications from all areas of nursing although previous experience in interventional radiology, endoscopy, cardiac catheterisation or theatre is desirable.
Training will be given to successful applicants to ensure that an excellent knowledge of interventional procedures is gained.
The key qualities of a radiology healthcare assistant are a passion to advocate for the patient and their safety, champion the trust values and have the desire to work within a dynamic team.
Our radiology healthcare assistants work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of consultant radiologists, radiographers, nurses and support staff to deliver safe, effective and efficient care to all patients attending the radiology department.
The Interventional Radiology service operates Monday - Friday, mostly at the Wonford site, however radiology also plays a significant part in the new Community Diagnostic Hub located at the Sowton Site.
As part of this, Radiology nurses and healthcare assistants will provide cover on a rotational basis to support the Fluoroscopy service.
