Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Senior HSW Advisor to work on our Street Lighting contracts, this is a national role, however, predominantly in the south.
As a Senior HSW Advisor you will be part of our Health, Safety and Wellbeing team who are responsible for providing functional health, safety and wellbeing advice, guidance and coaching to the operational teams and other colleagues in the HSW Team. This position directly supports HSW Managers and Advisors, in addition to our contract teams in establishing and maintaining the highest level of health, safety and wellbeing.
As the Senior HSW Advisor your duties & responsibilities will be: Advise, guide and coach all personnel with the implementation of the Milestone Infrastructure Management System (MIMS) Advise on contract/project compliance with MIMS and statutory provisions Capture data and monitor compliance Assist with the development, implementation then monitor HSW plans, e.g. construction phase plan, depot HSW plan etc. Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are prepared and reviewed as necessary Production of a higher quality of internal and external reports e.g. investigations etc. Supporting clients to adopt a continuous improvement approach to their own HSW standards and practices Liaise with Regulators Carry out specific briefings as instructed by HSW manager Lead on serious-very serious incident investigations in line with the incident investigation procedure and identify preventative measures to prevent similar incidents recurring Assist with HSW questions in pre-qualification and tender documents. Escalate incidents to HSW manager and contract/project lead immediately and appropriately Carry out internal and external audits of Milestone Contracts and Milestone's supply chain; Maintain the incident management database (Optimus) Ensure monthly HSW reports are submitted, accurately and on time Participate in the development, review, update and rollout of HSW processes and procedures within MIMS Identify and produce award submissions, e.g .RoSPA Skills & Knowledge Requirements Essential: Previous experience in health and safety Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (NVQ) Technician, or Graduate membership of IOSH Desirable: Working towards chartered membership of IOSH NEBOSH Diploma NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work MSc / PGD in Occupational Health & Safety Management or equivalent (NVQ)
