Your new role In your role, you will work across multiple sectors – from Antarctic Research Outposts to skyscrapers and world leading hospitals across the globe. Based out of one of the regional offices, you will be expected, on occasion, to travel UK-wide to fulfil the needs of the projects you will be working on. You will be working with a team spanning multiple disciplines including Structures, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Facades and Acoustics. You will be part of project teams that may be as large as 30 people or as intimate as 2 or 3.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Be part of a team which leads, plans, undertakes, coordinates and monitors work on projectsContribute to the overall design and delivery of projects, as a Lead Public Health Engineer.Identify opportunities for digital automation, optimisation of building systems, interfaces and/or their component parts.Monitor the implementation of design throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial concepts to visits on site.Liaise and interact with other UK Building Services teams, as well as our Overseas Resourcing Centres to deliver projects from a wide range of sectors.Help manage technical risk, be aware of our scope of services and assist where necessary in fee proposals and resourcing.Provide pastoral care for the younger generation of Public Health Engineers in your local office.Be a core influencer of our team's Public Health design skills, systematically reducing risk and improving efficiency in our delivery of low and net zero carbon design solutions.Proactively pursue continuous professional development including working towards chartership with a recognised institution, as well as promoting the field of Public Health.About you To succeed in this role you must have a solid grounding in engineering principles and more importantly, an inquisitive nature and enthusiasm for the built environment.
For security clearance, must have been in the UK for a minimum of 5 yearsBachelor's degree in engineering or relevant subject, or equivalentPrevious experience with leading and coordinating all aspects of project delivery (PH bias)Forward thinking and enthusiastic about digital design innovation and 'smart design' in increasingly digitalized construction arenaStrong technical knowledge in the field of Public Health and Fire Suppression, including Water Services, Above Ground Drainage (including Rainwater Disposal Systems).
