Senior Governance Secretariat Officer

Details of the offer

Senior Governance Secretariat Officer – Support the Future of NHS Data Governance Working Conditions: This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of primarily working from home.
However, you will be required to attend the NHS England Waterloo office on a monthly basis for in-person meetings and collaboration.
Permanent position, 37.5 hours per week.
Job Purpose: The FDP Senior Governance Secretariat Officer will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance and decision-making within the NHS's Federated Data Platform programme.
This position involves planning and managing meetings, creating briefing packs, maintaining action logs, and liaising with stakeholders to drive progress between governance meetings.
The Federated Data Platform: NHS England's Data and Analytics Directorate is driving the transformation to put patients in control of their data, support clinicians, decision-makers, and researchers with real-time, high-quality data, and empower the NHS Data Community to leverage their skills for high-value opportunities.
We pride ourselves on our dedication, creativity, and values-driven approach to improving decision-making across health and care, helping people live healthier, longer lives.
The NHS relies on data every day to manage patient care and plan services, but it is often stored in systems that don't communicate with each other, creating burdens for both patients and staff.
The Federated Data Platform connects these systems, allowing each Trust and Integrated Care Board to manage their own customised version, enhancing data integration and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities: Forward planning and preparation for all governance meetings, including creating briefing packs and chair briefings.
Manage action logs and follow up on action points between meetings to ensure progress.
Provide expert secretariat support, including minute-taking and distributing meeting outcomes.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and governance processes.
Support the development of governance strategies and maintain the Terms of Reference for key groups.
Essential Skills & Experience: Significant experience in coordinating projects and managing governance processes.
Proven track record in a fast-paced environment, dealing with senior stakeholders and complex meetings.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience in minute-taking and maintaining accurate records of decisions and actions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience: Experience in a healthcare or public sector environment, preferably within the NHS.
Familiarity with governance practices and processes in the public sector.
Qualifications: Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Postgraduate degree or qualifications in governance or project management are desirable.
