are currently looking to recruit a Senior Civils Estimator to work on our new & existing frameworks within the Northern Business Unit.
As a Senior Estimator you will be part of the up-front team, reporting through to the regional Managing Estimator, responsible for delivering accurate and timely estimates across a mix of clean & wastewater projects involving capital delivery works, frameworks and competitive tenders.
Morrison Water Services Northern Business Unit encompasses works within the Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water and United Utilities regions.
As a Senior Estimator your duties and responsibilities will be: To provide estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and governance To assist and advise the Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates/cost data To ensure where possible supplier/subcontractor terms are back to back with the client requirements and if not to impact assess any deviations Responsible for prioritising workload and supporting the team to produce results in a timely manner to meet business needs Day to day liaison with, and influencing of, key stakeholders, such as customers and operational colleagues To develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance Travelling to sites to ascertain scope of works as & when required Skills and Knowledge Requirements: Experience within the water industry is essential, preferably within both water and wastewater, infra and non-infra environments, but also advantageous to have other utility estimating experience Preferably experience of delivering water and/or wastewater projects Effective communication and negotiating skills Excellent people management skills Ability and desire to identify opportunities and influence change Ability to react to constant workloads and delegate accordingly Commercial and contractual knowledge and understanding of various forms of NEC Contracts (Options A to E) Able to follow process and governance Able to present and use planning and visual software applications Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as excel, word, powerpoint etc Knowledge of estimating tools and techniques Knowledge of estimating software packages such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy etc Full UK driving licence Qualifications Preferably degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Cost & Planning or similar, but industry experience will also be considered
