The project:
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior MEP estimating manager to join our established and growing team in London within our Mace MEP services business unit.
You will provide commercial support in the preparation of accurate and auditable detailed estimates and cost plans. Identifying the nett cost of construction, estimating the cost of key elements such as including staffing and preliminaries.

Provides commercial support in the preparation of accurate and auditable detailed estimates and cost plans. Identifying the net cost of construction, estimating the cost of key elements such including staffing and preliminaries.
You'll be responsible for: Leads a team preparing estimates and cost planning for a portfolio and/or projects, adhering to estimating procedures.
Accountable for compiling team and preliminaries schedules and collaborating with internal and external teams as and when required.
Coordinates measurement exercises, including preparation of schedules of quantities.
Manages benchmarking exercises to test the estimate.
Oversees the quality assurance of estimates within the project ensuring they are fit for purpose.
Presents complex estimating and risk modelling data to stakeholders, interpreting and providing recommendations for both a technical and non-technical audience.
Presents the estimate work to key stakeholders demonstrating a full knowledge and understanding of the project.
Analyses quotations as part of the compilation of the estimate.
Provides senior management and stakeholders with estimating analysis insight, modelling scenarios solutions and options, leveraging commercial knowledge.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Understanding of construction contracts, respective arrangements & measurement rules.
Understanding and knowledge of construction costs.
Advanced excel expertise, estimating tools and building information modelling (measurement)
Understanding of cost breakdown structure (CBS) & work breakdown structure (WBS)
Understands the design process and outputs.
Development of cost models including (amongst others) indirect costs and prelims.
You'll need to have: You have a RICS accredited degree qualification within quantity surveying and commercial management.
You will also have substantial experience of commercial management within the London building market.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
