Job summary Senior Emergency Practitioner - Band 7Chippenham MIU Unit Hours per week - 9 month Fixed Term Contract -Maternity CoverDo you enjoy working in a busy environment where no two shifts are thesame?Would you like to work in a highly supportive team with excellent opportunitiesfor development and progression?Do you want to fully utilise and develop your clinical skills underpinnedwith funded Masters Level Training as an Emergency Practitioner?If so, our Minor Injury Units are the place for you!Wiltshire Health and Care have two Minor Injury Units, in Chippenham andTrowbridge, that treat approximately 2000 patients across the service permonth, making a real difference, providing care closer to home and avoidingadmission to hospital wherever possible and appropriate.
Our aim is to closelyintegrate with the Primary Care Network to widen the conditions we are able tosupport within our units.
Both units offer a unique experience of carerequirements, and you will have the opportunity to work across both sites.
Main duties of the job desire to autonomously assess and treat patients.
You will have excellentclinical assessment and decision-making skills along with the ability to leadtogether with a passion to provide patient centred care.
You will be workingacross a shift system which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team who pride themselves ontheir excellent team working and support of each other whilst treating adiverse range of conditions.
You will have excellent opportunities for learningand development with access to a wide range of courses to develop your clinicalskills along the four pillars of care.
You will be supported to obtain theNon-Medical Prescribing qualification if not already part of your skill set.This role will provide you with a challenging but rewarding opportunityto utilise your skills and to deliver excellent care to a wide group ofpatients.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Live registration with regulatory body as relevant to profession NMC / HCPC Emergency Nurse Practitioner course at Level 3 Teaching: ENB998; FETC 730 or equivalent Immediate Life Support (Adult and child) Degree (or able to demonstrate recent study at this level and willingness to complete).
Ability to demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development.
Training in managing conduct, health, sickness and performance, recruitment & selection, appraisal Desirable Masters degree Management course NEBS or equivalent Non-medical prescribing Child Protection level 3 Experience Essential Significant experience within ED/MIU including appropriate experience as an autonomous practitioner at Band 6 or above Audit: Carry out, evaluate and action findings Clinical Supervision Appraisal Teaching Organisational political awareness Legal and Professional awareness Finance and budgets, high level and local provision High level of clinical knowledge Current National and local issues in healthcare provision Paediatrics Worked collaboratively in teams Demonstrates achievement in quality/practice development Demonstrates ability to develop staff Demonstrates ability to implement change Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice Thorough understanding of equality and diversity, its application to managing self, staff and patients across the Trust Understanding your Professional Bodies Code of Practice and requirements of it for the practice and behaviour and its application to the management of staff and self Evidence of effective budgetary management Desirable Evidence of involvement in service users advocacy and complaints resolution Cannulation Ability to undertake research Additional Criteria Essential Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence
