Job DescriptionChildren, Education and Justice ServicesSenior Early Years Intervention OfficerWaverley CourtSalary: £37, - £44, (pro rata for sessional)Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional2 x permanent ( 1 x 36 & 1 x 28.8hrs) 1 Fixed Term (36hrs) till 04/01/ (maternity cover)We are currently recruiting for Senior Early Years Intervention Officers as part of the Early Learning and Childcare Expansion as funded by the Scottish Government.In Edinburgh, this is a relatively new post and provides an excellent opportunity for anyone who has a degree or working towards a degree qualification within early years.SEYIOs are centrally managed within the Early Years team and are then allocated to identified settings and work directly with the children.
As part of the role there is on-going high quality training to support intervention work which will improve outcomes for some of our youngest learners.This post will appeal to practitioners who want to further develop their skills and who would like to make a difference in closing the poverty related attainment gap.This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act .
The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
You will be required to provide this check.
