It's a busy and exciting time for the brand and we're on the hunt for a Senior Designer to join our growing Creative team. This role is a 12-month FTC (Maternity Cover).
The TeamDesign is where it all starts. The dynamic creative hub that sets the vision and inspiration behind the product. Delivering the overarching trends in fashion and culture that inspires the whole business.
We create and design the trends key items, and palettes and work closely with the buying, merchandising and our supplier teams to deliver the product that our customers love and give them that New Look feeling they crave. No two days are the same and we thrive in a fast-paced environment. We love having a laugh while we do it and look out for each other.
The Role:If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, exciting environment, juggling multiple plates and having a good laugh as you do – then the New Look Design team is for you! We are looking for an experienced, passionate and driven Senior Outerwear & Tailoring Designer to join our close-knit team. You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do, developing and delivering on-trend and on-brand ranges that maximise sales opportunity.
Identify key Outerwear & Tailoring and Soft Bottoms items and volume trends, ensuring alignment with customer profiles and market demands.Drive new trends commercially, designing products with the brand's handwriting and customer in mind.Manage the critical path from design concept to final samples, reacting to market changes and challenges.Create detailed tech packs for outerwear designs, including fabrications, construction guidelines, and trims.Collaborate with Buying teams to build cohesive, fashionable, and commercially strong ranges.Source new fabrics, conduct competitor analysis, and identify new supplier opportunities to maintain competitive advantage.Mentor and coach junior designers while supporting the wider design strategy and team collaboration.Work closely with QA to ensure design direction and customer trends are reflected in product fit and quality.About You:Proficient in PC/Mac with skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, and Word.Strong technical specification skills and excellent understanding of design processes.Proven ability to present work effectively to senior management, influencing buying decisions.Experienced in managing workload according to critical path deadlines.Strong commercial eye with in-depth customer knowledge and trend prediction skills.Exceptional team player with great communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.Experienced in working with international suppliers and knowledgeable in outerwear fabrics and construction.Fashion Design qualification, with previous experience as an Outerwear/Tailoring Designer in a high street fashion brand or supplier.Why New Look?The amazing people, the fashion – there are so many reasons to love working at New Look.
